2019 and 2020.
the album “Mary Magdalene. All Is One” and “Anima”
The concert tour “Mary Magdalene. All Is One Tour” turned out to be the culmination of a unique journey that Justyna Steczkowska began many years ago. This time she decided to invite her listeners to participate in this journey – to fully experience sound and image.
Each concert from the “Mary Magdalene. All Is One Tour” was a unique opportunity to hear live songs from the album “Maria Magdalena. All Is One”. All concerts on the tour were accompanied by the Polish Film Music Orchestra and Jakub Rene Kosik.
“Mary Magdalene. All Is One Tour” is a breakthrough tour in Justyna Steczkowska’s career. First of all, it is a work on which the artist has been working for several years, refining every sound. She also took care of the visual sphere in a unique way, reaching for fascinating, even oneiric 3D visualizations. Thanks to this combination of sound and image, Justyna Steczkowska was able to prepare a concert tour in which each encounter with her work became an opportunity for the viewer to enter a world full of metaphysics, drawn by the emotions and sensitivity of each viewer.
Before the audience could meet “Mary Magdalene” in theatres and philharmonics all over Poland, the songs from this album went on a very long journey, during which they matured together with the Artist. The path of “Mary Magdalene” began in 2014, when Justyna Steczkowska anonymously (under a pseudonym, which today is the title of an officially released album) released a unique compilation of songs, combining the world of electronic music with the beauty and naturalness of the sound of orchestral arrangements. It was an almost hour-long musical performance, made available to the audience in digital form.
Justyna’s well-known voice was quickly recognized by listeners, so soon after the compilation was published, it was combined with the artist’s achievements. Justyna, however, did not stop there – over the next years she returned to all the songs that were part of this unique project. They matured together with the Artist. They changed – slightly, but significantly. And perhaps it is this way of their flourishing that has made them particularly popular among the recipients of Justyna Steczkowska’s work to this day. The artist herself has also never hidden the fact that these works occupy a special place in her oeuvre.
Almost 6 years after its first, shy premiere, “Maria Magdalena” appeared on store shelves, available in the form of a physically released, official, studio album by Justyna Steczkowska. In its final form, it took the title: “Mary Magdalene. All Is One”.
Without a doubt, the concert tour “Mary Magdalene. All Is One Tour” was one of the most magical and mystical tours in Justyna Steczkowska’s career. The artist was accompanied on stage by the Polish Film Music Orchestra and Jakub Rene Kosik. The audience had the opportunity to hear all 12 compositions that make up the studio album (“Maria Magdalena. All Is One”) and selected songs from the album “Anima”.
However, these were concerts unlike any other, not interrupted by applause between the songs (before the start of each of them, the artist went on stage and invited the audience to experience the songs in an intimate, personal way – in full concentration and devotion to the emerging emotions). As a result, in the concert halls filled with the sounds of “Mary Magdalene” there was an extremely intimate atmosphere, undisturbed by any unnecessary sounds. Its shape and tone were undoubtedly also influenced by the arrangement of the stage. This time, Justyna decided to stay in the shadow of her own sounds. Separated from the audience by an almost transparent screen on which 3D visualizations prepared especially for this occasion appeared, it was a barely perceptible ghost for the viewers. None of her movements, no activity on the part of the Polish Film Music Orchestra accompanying the Artist was able to disturb the viewer’s intimate encounter with the music.
