JUSTYNA STECZKOWSKA

Shaman of the Polish music scene.

An unconventional and multi-talented artist, she has so far become known as a singer, violinist, composer, songwriter, actress and photographer.

She is one of the few Polish vocalists who can boast a four-octave voice scale.

Thanks to her incredible talent, she has gained enormous recognition in the music industry, and millions of Poles have come to love her for her creativity, charisma and unique style.

She has won many music awards and honors, including: 6 Frédéric Awards, 2 Wiktor Awards, a Rose of Gala and an Amber Nightingale.

The singer’s artistic output includes 16 studio albums, 300 songs, about 40 music videos and several thousand concerts played. She has also appeared on more than 100 newspaper covers.

To coincide with the release of “Pinocchio,” a music video for the iconic song “A Million Stars in the Sky Shine,” from the classic 1940 animation “Pinocchio,” has been made available on Disney’s “YouTube” channel. Especially for the new live-action version of the film, the song was performed by Justyna Steczkowska! Internet users did not hide their words of admiration for the singer’s performance, which they gave vent to in the comments under the latest Disney video.

Justyna Steczkowska has once again become the coach of the 13th edition of the most popular TV talent show “The Voice of Poland”.

September 2, 2022.

Justyna Steczkowska has embarked on another grand tour. The tour “Krzysztof Krawczyk – How to experience everything once again…” is a musical spectacle in tribute to Krzysztof Krawczyk. Justyna, along with the leading vocalists of the Polish music scene, performs Krzysztof Krawczyk’s greatest hits accompanied by the Royal Symphony Orchestra.

Justyna Steczkowska on the second day of the 59th National Festival of Polish Song in Opole celebrated her special 50th birthday and the 25th anniversary of her artistic work. The Opole audience sang “Happy Birthday” to the artist and rewarded her performance with great applause. Justyna Steczkowska’s recital was a real musical spectacle on a world level and delighted viewers, which translated into viewership of the concert.

A dynamic, danceable music video for the energetic song “D.N.A” premiered. The song’s lyrics are about fear – an emotion that literally “poisons our DNA.” The composition is a preview of Justyna’s latest studio album, planned for next year. The music video has received acclaim from viewers and has already exceeded one million plays after just 3 weeks. The song is aired on music TV stations as well as radio stations.

May 21, 2022.

Justyna Steczkowska made a guest appearance in the concert summing up the 20th anniversary of Doda’s career during the Polsat SuperHit Festival at the Forest Opera in Sopot. The singers performed the song “Sign of Peace” together and delighted the audience! Justyna’s performance with Doda was a symbolic gesture of reconciliation.

Justyna Steczkowska, in collaboration with her son Leon, who co-founded the duo Mike&Laurent, presented a club dance track titled “Now.” The song was positively received by listeners hitting key Spotify playlists.

Justyna Steczkowska, along with other artists, performed at another charity concert (“Glory to Ukraine. Today Ukraine is a Woman”) for Ukraine at Pilsudski Square in Warsaw. Together with Arek Kłusowski, she sang the reflective song “Uciekinierzy” from the album Szamanka.

Justyna Steczkowska took part in a great charity concert “Solidarity with Ukraine”. The artist presented the ballad “I’m coming home” and “Dopóki ziemia kręci się”. Justyna donated her performance fee to help children affected by the war.

A music video for the long-awaited track, a beautiful ballad titled “Between Us,” which Justyna recorded in duet with Beata Kozidrak, has hit the web. “Between Us” is another single from the album “Szamanka”.

The premiere of “Szamanka” – Justyna Steczkowska’s 17th studio album – has taken place. This is an exceptional and unique release, with which the artist wishes to celebrate her 25th anniversary of artistic work. The album includes both pop compositions and reflective ballads. The singer presented surprising duets (with Beata Kozidrak, Leszek Możdżer, Arek Kłusowski, Luna or Marcin Maciejczak), as well as meditative mantras.

The release of another single announcing “Shaman” came as quite a surprise. This time Justyna put into the hands of fans the first of the mantras, “Ramadasa,” which will also enrich the anniversary album.

The last day of January saw the premiere of the music video for “Runaways” – another single by Justyna Steczkowska. The duet with Arek Klusowski hit streaming a few days earlier, where it gained recognition from audiences, hitting key Spotify playlists.

Justyna Steczkowska closed the year 2021 in her style – artistically. Its crowning achievement was a new version of the iconic “Shaman’s Girl”. The arrangement, which Justyna once again delighted the audience, came from the fingers of the brilliant pianist Leszek Możdżer.

Another video announcing Justyna Steczkowska’s anniversary album has been released. This time the artist surprised fans with a duet with Marcin Maciejczak.

On the second day of the “Polsat SuperHit Festival” in Sopot, Justyna Steczkowska enriched the “Best of the Best” concert with her performance. She sang her hit song “Dziewczyna szamana” and a song from the repertoire of Violetta Villas – “Oczy czarne”.

March 18, 2021.

Exactly 25 years after the release of her debut album, Justyna Steczkowska brings her listeners an unusual gift – a digitally remastered version of the release. “Shaman’s Girl (2021 Remastered)” appeared on streaming services on March 18. What’s more – behind this surprise, the artist hid another one for her fans – the announcement and pre-order of a vinyl, which will be released in June in a limited edition.

The single “Have Courage” has gone on sale in physical form. Its cover is adorned with a photo from a one-of-a-kind underwater photo shoot that Justyna participated in a few weeks before the song’s release.

Justyna Steczkowska’s latest single, entitled “Have Courage,” had its digital premiere. A few days earlier the artist presented it to viewers during her guest appearance on The Voice of Poland program, and on November 29 they could already see the official music video promoting the song. The composition is also a preview of Justyna’s latest studio album, planned for the fall.

September 22, 2020.

Without a doubt, one of the most extraordinary artistic endeavors not only in 2020, but also in Justyna Steczkowska’s entire career, was the “Maria Magdalena – Forest Concert” recorded on September 22. It took place in the unique setting of the National Forests (with the highest precautions and exceptional care for the surrounding nature of the artists). The concert consisted of intimate, albeit orchestral, performances of works from the artist’s two albums: “Maria Magdalena” (2019) and “Anima” (2014). The event premiered on November 15, 2020 on Justyna Steczkowska’s official YouTube channel.

September 5, 2020.

One of the opportunities to celebrate Justyna Steczkowska’s 25th anniversary of her artistic work together was the 57th KFPP in Opole. During one of her performances, the artist surprised the audience with a completely new version of her stage image, which was enhanced by her performance of Medley (“The Shaman’s Girlfriend”/ “Eye for an Eye”/ “For Punishment”/ “Divine Buenos”). In the second part of the Festival, Justyna once again wowed the audience, and her performance and rendition of the song “Such a Tango” was crowned with much applause and appreciative reviews.

The impossibility of realizing the planned tours, which were also intended to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Justyna Steczkowska’s artistic work, did not stop the artist from sharing her work with her fans. The result of her perseverance and passion was the first online concert in her career, which was realized in a unique setting – on the roof of the Hotel Warszawa, in the heart of the capital.

One of the clearest signs of the timing of 2020 and the accompanying (pandemic-related) public sentiment is the #hot16challange2 challenge. The idea of the venture allowed representatives of different backgrounds – including artists – to stand in unison in the fight against the pandemic. Justyna also took up the challenge, resulting in a brand new music video.

Justyna Steczkowska took part in a concert commemorating the 100th anniversary of the birth of John Paul II. The uniqueness of this event made it possible to combine performances by top Polish artists, which took place simultaneously in Gdansk, Krakow, Warsaw, Wadowice and Czestochowa. The event was broadcast by TVP1, and Justyna Steczkowska performed the song “Black Madonna” inside the Jasna Gora Basilica.

February 14, 2020.

Traditionally, on Valentine’s Day, Justyna Steczkowska launched another grand tour – the 4th edition of the “Film Music Concerts“, which since 2016 have enjoyed unflagging interest and appreciation from audiences, gathering thousands of viewers from all over Poland in front of the stage. Each successive edition of the tour brings something new to the project – and so it was this time, when the audience, in addition to the biggest movie hits, could also listen to hits from the most popular series.

So there was no shortage of blockbusters from such films and series as Pirates of the Caribbean, Star Wars, James Bond, The Godfather, Leprechaun, War Demons, Promised Land, Dogs, Game of Thrones, Twin Peaks and The Witcher.

The tour was planned for several months and a dozen Polish cities, but a worldwide pandemic prevented it from continuing. The February concert was therefore the only installment of the 4th edition of the “Film Music Concerts + Series” in 2020.

January 3 and 5, 2020.

In the first days of January, Justyna Steczkowska greeted audiences with the concert “Maria Magdalena. All Is One.” The first concert was held at the Grand Theater in Warsaw, and the second was held in the studios of Polish Radio’s Third Program (online recording).

December 2019.

The year 2019 Justyna Steczkowska, along with Andrzej Piaseczny, Kasia Cerekwicka, Kasia Something and Halina Mlynkova, closed with a short Christmas tour, which audiences came to know as “Christmas Time! Concert.” The concerts, hosted by prominent actor and announcer Piotr Polk, allowed viewers to feel the unique magic of Christmas and enjoy the sounds of the biggest Christmas hits.

November 29, 2019.

The end of November (28.11) saw the premiere of the film “How to Marry a Millionaire?”, in which Justyna Steczkowska played the exceptionally intriguing and at the same time funny role of Pola. She appeared on screen alongside Malgorzata Socha, Michal Malinowski and Malgorzata Foremniak. The film hit theaters the very next day – November 29.

October 4, 2019.

Justyna Steczkowska began her autumn tour with the unveiling of the 2nd edition of the “Tribute to…” concerts. The idea of the concert allowed top Polish artists to once again meet on one stage and remind the audience of the biggest, still alive and timeless hits of such stars as Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, Whitney Houston, Joe Cocker, James Brown, Dolores O’Riordan (The Cranberries), Chester Bennington (Linkin Park), Freddie Mercure (Queen) and Kora (Maanam).

July 26, 2019.

Justyna Steczkowska enriched the Anna German International Talent Festival, which took place in Zielona Gora’s amphitheater, with her guest performance. The second part of the Festival was dedicated to the memory of Kora (Maanam). Justyna therefore reminded the audience of one of the greatest hits of the Maanam band, which also featured more than once on her albums (“Dziewczyna Szamana”, “XV”) – “Boskie Buenos”. The concert was broadcast by TVP2.

July-September 2019.

After the huge success of the “Film Music Concerts” tour – audiences yearned for the performances they were delighted with at the first edition of the project, which took place in 2017. That’s why Justyna, along with other artists, embarked on a short but extremely intense musical journey, recalling the greatest hits of the first KMF installment. This time the film hits, under the banner of “Film Music Concert for BIS,” resounded in concert halls in Kolobrzeg, Plock, Ostroda, Gorzow Wielkopolski and Walbrzych, among others.

March 2, 2019.

In March, audiences were able to meet “Maria Magdalena” on stage for the first time. The first concert of the “Maria Magdalena. All Is One Tour” took place at the Warmian-Masurian Philharmonic Hall in Olsztyn. It was an extraordinary event, shrouded in an aura of unique atmosphere and intense emotions – a true spectacle for the soul. Each subsequent concert of the tour was prepared by Justyna with special care. In order to ensure that her audience could fully experience the music, the artist made sure that the concerts were accompanied by an aura of intimacy. She dispensed with applause between songs, prepared unusual 3D visualizations, and invited Jakub Rene Kosik and the Polish Film Music Orchestra to collaborate.

Concerts from the “Maria Magdalena. All Is One Tour” were also enjoyed by audiences in other Polish cities, including: Poznan, Warsaw and Rzeszow.

February 27, 2019

A unique event took place at the Atlas Arena in Lodz, which was also enriched by Justyna Steczkowska’s performance. The concert “Artists against hatred” is the first of its kind – a joint voice of Polish artists, who openly, peacefully, in the most beautiful way possible opposed the omnipresent in the age of the Internet hejt and hate speech.

During the concert, Justyna performed a song that is particularly popular with the audience – “I’m going home.”

Justyna Steczkowska’s exceptional album – “Mary Magdalene. All Is One “. The twelve compositions that make up this release are exceptionally reflective pieces, inviting the audience on a distant, but also full of unique musical adventures. A guarantee of an amazing, magical experience accompanying the reception of the album is the original combination of a large string orchestra with club music. Los Angeles-based Daniel Heath, responsible for Lana Del Rey’s greatest successes, became co-producer of the album.

On Valentine’s Day 2019, Justyna Steczkowska embarked on the third installment of the Film Music Concerts. In this edition she was accompanied on stage by such artists as Natalia Kukulska, Kasia Cerekwicka, Agata Nizinska, Kasia Moś, Tomasz “Tomson” Lach, Grzegorz Hyży, Slawek Uniatowski, Lukasz Zagrobelny, Beata Kozidrak (Special Guest). The delightful arrangements, which the audience was able to enjoy for almost 3 hours of the concert, are the work of the Polish Film Music Orchestra under the baton of Przemysław Pasternak. The inaugural concert of the 3rd Film Music Concerts tour was held in Koszalin.

GRAND TOURS

YEAR 2018

October 19, 2018.

Another unique encounter with music turned out to be the “Tribute to…” tour, which began back in October and lasted two months. This was the first, though not the last, installment of this project. The concert allowed the audience to recall the most beautiful and beloved songs of Prince, Michael Jackson, George Michael, Amy Winehouse, Whitney Houston, Joe Cocker, Freddie Mercury or John Lennon. They were performed by some of Poland’s most outstanding artists. In addition to Justyna Steczkowska, on stage appeared: Janusz Radek, Kasia Cerekwicka, Andrzej Piaseczny, Tatiana Okupnik, Krzysztof Cugowski, Kasia Moś, Tomasz “Tomson” Lach, Baron and Ania Dąbrowska.

October 9, 2018.

The autumn of 2018 was marked by unique and exceptional productions that brought together not only generations, but also artists from various areas of culture. One such project was a series of concerts commemorating the figure of Grzegorz Ciechowski – “Ciechowski – meeting with a legend“, which were prepared by Adam Sztaba and his Orchestra. Justyna, during these concerts, had the opportunity to perform the song “Moja krew”.

August 31, 2018.

The Roma Theater in Warsaw hosted the final installment of a magical and extremely colorful show. The August concert “Justyna Steczkowska & Orkiestra Gypsy” crowned the grand tour with which Justyna Steczkowska visited dozens of Polish cities in 2015 and 2016, promoting the album “And what was it to me?”.

February-October 2018.

After the huge success of the “Film Music Concerts” that resounded in many Polish cities in 2017, in February 2018 Justyna once again invited some of Poland’s most prominent artists and opened the second installment of the tour with them on February 14 in Koszalin. This time the “2nd Film Music Concert” was graced with the presence of Kayah, Piotr Cugowski, Kuba Badach, Igor Herbut, Gabriel Fleszar, Sound’n’Grace. The artists with a new installment of music and film repertoire visited Koszalin, Zielona Gora, Lublin, Olsztyn, Warsaw, Poznan, Wroclaw, Katowice, Krakow and Torun.

January 2018.

In January 2018, a unique event took place – a concert entitled Lord of the Rings in Concert. In Poland’s largest concert halls, audiences had the opportunity to once again relive the story of Frodo and the Fellowship of the Ring, and what’s more – their journey was accompanied by music composed by Howard Shore, played live by a 250+ member orchestra. Justyna Steczkowska made guest appearances in all parts of the Lord of the Rings in Concert.

15TH ANNIVERSARY OF "ALKIMJA"

Justyna Steczkowska began her autumn tour with the “Tribute to Leonard Cohen” concert, during which the audience had the opportunity to hear the Bard’s greatest immortal hits in brand new arrangements performed by the Polish Film Music Orchestra. In addition to Justyna, the stage featured: Krzysztof Cugowski, Jan Borysewicz, Marek Dyjak and Maciej Malenczuk.

March 14, 2017.

Justyna Steczkowska’s anniversary tour ended at the Polish Theater in Warsaw, during which the artist celebrated the 15th anniversary of her album “Alkimja” with the audience. The event was celebrated by honoring the album with Gold Record status.

March 8, 2017

On the occasion of Women’s Day Justyna Steczkowska prepared an extraordinary gift for all lovers of her work. This special day marked the premiere of the long-awaited album “Anima Live” – which is a recording of the Artist’s concert during a live performance in one of the most beautiful and at the same time most famous concert halls in the capital of Great Britain – the Union Chapel Cathedral in London.

The concert, recorded on DVD, took place on October 2, 2015 inside a 19th century Gothic cathedral, which was filled with the sounds of “Anima.” The audience had a unique opportunity to celebrate with the Artist her 20th anniversary of artistic work. Thus, in addition to the latest compositions, there was no shortage of concert arrangements of Justyna’s greatest hits – “I’m coming home”, “Gravity”, “Sanctuary” or “Give me a moment”.

GYPSY QUEEN

YEAR 2016

On the second day of Christmas Justyna and her band performed in a unique place – the Basilica of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Swieta Lipka. Inside the unique Baroque sanctuary, the artist sang the most beautiful carols and pastorals. During the concert there was also time for the symbolic sharing of the Christmas wafer. The performance was recorded
and is planned to be released on DVD.

December 9, 2016.

The last acoustic concert of 2016 took place in Dąbrowa Górnicza. Justyna and her band, as part of the “Justyna Steczkowska Acoustically” tour, visited 20 cities! The symbolic “twenty” reminds
of this year’s anniversary of the release of the Artist’s first album, “The Shaman’s Girls.”

December 5, 2016.

In early December, Justyna took part in a unique gala commemorating Przemyslaw Gintrowski. The concert “Gintrowski – and yet something will remain after us…” not only reminded of the bard’s work, but above all allowed to refresh the timeless values hidden
in his works. In addition to Justyna, the Cugowski brothers, Kasia Kowalska and Maciej Miecznikowski, among others, presented their interpretations of Gintrowski’s greatest works. Justyna performed the song “Na zakręcie,” the words to which were written by Agnieszka Osiecka. The concert was recorded and rebroadcast on television on December 13, 2016.

October 16, 2016.

Justyna Steczkowska, along with some of the most prominent Artists of the Polish music scene, has launched a major concert tour. Film Music Concerts. She visited the largest Polish cities – including Koszalin, Wroclaw, Gdynia, Poznan, Szczecin, Olsztyn… A total of 9 Film Music Concerts were held in 2016. On stage, next to Justyna, the audience had the opportunity to admire Andrzej Piaseczny, Krzysztof Kiljański, Mietek Szczesniak, Janusz Radek and Krzysztof Cugowski. The extraordinary show turned out to be a multicolored spectacle for both the ears and eyes of the audience. The artists delighted with their interpretations of the biggest movie hits. There was no shortage of themes from such cult productions as: “GoldenEye”, “Notting Hill”, “Bodyguard”, “The Lion King”, “Frantic”, “Gladiator”, “Lord of the Rings” or “Titanic”.
Film Music Concerts were accompanied by the Polish Film Music Orchestra under the baton of Tomek Szymus, and the scenery for each
of them was created by visualizations displayed on huge screens. The magnificent orchestrations were complemented by delightful choreographic arrangements prepared by Tomasz Baranski.

August 27, 2016.

The Balkan sound of gypsy music, Justyna’s extraordinary voice and, to top it off, phenomenal dancers choreographed by Tomasz Baranski – all this became a recipe for an unforgettable evening
with the gypsy queen. Justyna in the role of a seductive and sensual femme fatale warmed up the Sopot audience and roused them to dance. The party, laced with lyrics of songs from the album “I na co mi to było?”, colorful visuals
and real gypsy music (on stage, in addition to Justyna and the dancers, appeared the musicians of Tsigunz Fanfara Avantura), also turned out to be an extraordinary, energetic show! The concert “Justyna Steczkowska & Orkiestra Gypsy”, which took place on the stage of the Forest Opera in Sopot, was recorded. The Artist plans to release it on DVD.

July 31, 2016.

On the last day of July on the stage of the Forest Opera in Sopot, Justyna Steczkowska received a unique honor. Together with her, in a joint concert, performed Spanish tenor – Maestro Jose Carreras. The artists delighted the Sopot audience. Their joint performances of well-known works in new orchestral arrangements, prepared especially for the occasion, will go down in Polish music history. Among the musical duets were such titles as “En Aranjuez con tu Amor” and “Amigos para siempre”. The audience could not hide their emotions, and Jose Carreras himself did not spare Justina any compliments.

July 2, 2016.

The fourth and final day of the 21st Star Festival
in Międzyzdroje brought a unique event. On the Promenade of the Stars, during a ceremony specially prepared for the occasion, six new handprints were unveiled – among them also the one with Justyna’s signature. Presence on the Avenue of Stars in Międzyzdroje is a unique distinction honoring Justyna Steczkowska’s many years of artistic work.

Śpiewnik Pana Wasowskiego“, in its last-ever performance, opened the 21st Star Festival
in Międzyzdroje. On stage, in addition to Justyna Steczkowska
and Wojciech Malajkat, there was also the choir of the Collegium Musicum of the University of Warsaw.

During the 53rd National Festival of Polish Song Opole 2016, the final concert of the GOLD OPOLE plebiscite was held.
During the first stage of elimination, out of 53 songs, the audience chose their favorites. On the list, along with twenty others, was “Shaman’s Girl“. As a result, Justyna Steczkowska had the opportunity to perform once again on the stage of the Opole amphitheater, presenting one of her greatest hits in the final concert “Zlote Opole 2016”.

April 30, 2016.

Warsaw’s Syrena Theater hosted the latest installment of “Śpiewnik Pana Wasowskiego”, directed by Krzysztof Jaślara. The show, which was created as a tribute to Jerzy Wasowski, was a humorous reminder of the ever-present in content works of the “Kabaret Starczych Panów”. Justyna Steczkowska
and Wojciech Malajkat entertained, moved and delighted audiences for more than three years – the show has not been off the air since 2013.

March 10, 2016.

The premiere concert of the “Maria Magdalena” tour took place in March at the “Eter Club” in Wroclaw. For the first time the audience had the opportunity to hear live songs from the project “Maria Magdalena – All Is One”. The delightful club arrangement also included songs from the album “Anima” (“Lovers of the Siren”, “Chessmaster”, “Forgive Me Wrong”, “Fly”) and “XV” (“Criminal Love”). During the concert, which was also a unique visual spectacle thanks to multimedia screens, Jakub Rene Kosik was behind the console

March 5-6, 2016.

In early March Justyna made a guest appearance at the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Pomeranian Philharmonic in Bydgoszcz. During the concert “Pawbeats – Orchestra”, promoting Marcin Pawłowski’s second album, the audience had the opportunity to hear the Artist in two songs. The first was “Shaman’s Girls,” which resounded in a new arrangement prepared by Krzysztof Herdzin. While the second was “Affect,” composed by Pawbeats, which was also included on the album “Pawbeats – Orchestra.” The concert was recorded and lived to see a DVD release.

February 2016.

Justyna and her band embarked on an anniversary tour – “Justyna Steczkowska Acoustically”. – which recalls the twentieth anniversary of the release of the artist’s first album, “Dziewczyny Szamana.” However, during the concerts, the audience could hear not only acoustic arrangements of songs from the album released in 1996, but also from subsequent ones (m.in. “Daj mi chwil”).

January 2016.

At the beginning of the year Justyna once again lent her support to Jurek Owsiak’s unique campaign. For the benefit of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity she donated her extraordinary work – the album “Maria Magdalena – All Is One”, released in a limited edition.

YEAR 2015

December 2015.

Justyna ended 2015 on a strong charitable note. It was her participation in two projects that resulted in unique calendars. The first of these was the “Gentlemen’s Calendar” and its anniversary edition entitled “The most important things in life”. “Everything most important in life”, whose initiator for many years has been Olivier Janiak. The second – the calendar “I…such a world is beautiful”, the creation of which was supervised by the Omena Mensah Foundation – Omenaa Foundation.

November 30, 2015.

The premiere of the charity single – “Home dreams, angel dreams“. Justyna Steczkowska in a duet with Artur Andrus once again took up the fight
for the fate of the “UFNOŚĆ” Center in Częstochowa. The artists donated the proceeds from the sale of the Christmas single in its entirety to the aid house for sick and abandoned children.

November 8, 2015.

The premiere concert of the Gypsy tour – “Justyna Steczkowska & Orkiestra Gypsy” – took place at the ICE Krakow Congress Centre. On stage, in addition to the Artist and her band, there were musicians from Tsigunz Fanfara Avantura and dancers. This concert marked the beginning of a unique tour, enriched with multimedia, magical play of lights and crazy dancing on stage. During the performance, the audience had the opportunity to see an extraordinary show and listen live to all the compositions from the album “And what was it for?”.

October 23, 2015.

After a year of deep reflection, which passed for Justyna under the sign and sounds of “Anima,” it’s time for real gypsy madness! The album “AND WHAT WAS IT FOR?“, containing 12 musical compositions prepared by Boban and Marko Marković, is another brand new installment of Justyna’s artistic self. The lyrics to all the songs on the album were written by Filip Lobodzinski.

October 21, 2015.

A ceremony was held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage to award medals “Meritorious to Culture Gloria Artis”. From the hands of the Minister, Prof. Małgorzata Omilanowska, these unique awards were received by 26 artists who
have made a special contribution to the building of Polish culture. Justyna Steczkowska was also among those honored with the awards. The bronze medal “Meritorious for Culture Gloria Artis”, which was awarded to her, confirms not only Justyna’s exceptional role in Polish culture, but also her constant
presence and participation in the creation of national heritage.

Professor Omilanowska, addressing words of appreciation to the laureates, mentioned the most important, from the point of view of cultural heritage, role of the artist: “Every artist is a guide who leads through culture. And this guidance must reach the hearts
and minds of people with very different views, tastes
and preferences.” These words perhaps most fully and accurately describe Justyna’s artistic work of over 20 years to date.

October 2, 2015.

The year 2015 was marked by intense work for Justyna Steczkowska and two, extremely important tours. At the beginning of the year, the last concerts of the “Anima” tour, promoting the album of the same title, took place. In April, the Artist returned with a new tour – “I am not who I was…”. These concerts were an artistic summary of the past 20 years and her artistic work to date.

Justyna concluded her tour summarizing the 20th anniversary of her artistic work at the Union Chapel Cathedral in London. In such a mystical
and mystery-filled venue, both songs from “Anima”, as well as
and the artist’s earlier albums sounded in a special way.
The entire concert was recorded.

June 13, 2015.

Justyna Steczkowska received a statuette and the title of SuperArtist. This is a special award given to
in the SuperJedynek Competition at the National Festival of Polish Song in Opole. It is an expression of exceptional recognition from fans and the general public.

May 1-3, 2015.

Justyna, as the only Artist representing Poland, appeared at the “Meet inBeijingArts Festival 2015” in Beijing. Her performances won the hearts of the audience! The organization of the entire event was supported by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute for the Artist.

April 27, 2015.

A unique project has been put into the hands of the public, which Justyna Steczkowska, together with other artists, realized under the pseudonym “MARIA MAGDALENA“. For a long time this work and the accompanying projects were shrouded in a veil of mystery. The project, in the form of a music album and a film work, was given to the public completely free of charge at www.mm-allisone.com. This is an expression of Justyna’s boundless and selfless love for art and fans, as well as the artists who co-created the project with her.

YEAR 2014

December 12, 2015.

A concert commemorating Grzegorz Ciechowski was held at the Dramatic Theater in Warsaw. New arrangements of the producer’s greatest works were prepared by Adam Sztaba. Justyna performed the song titled. “Moja krew“. The entire project was summarized in a two-disc edition (CD + DVD with a recording of the concert) – “GRZEGORZ CIECHOWSKI – Spotkanie z Legendą”.

November 25, 2014.

ANIMA”… that is, the soul enchanted in melodies.
Justyna Steczkowska is back with her new album, which is not only a unique journey through the world of sounds, but above all a story about a wandering soul, which the Artist managed to express with the most beautiful sounds. It is also a story full of hidden meanings, which poses many difficult questions to the audience. The answers to them are hidden between the verses of the story of man in the context of the universe.
“Anima” is an album that is penetrating, sensual, emotional and… constantly magical.
The album includes eleven compositions, the lyrics to which were prepared by the sensitivity-filled, extremely talented artists of the new generation, including Katarzyna Nosowska, Bela Komoszyńska, Ifi Ude and Michal Panszczyk. All the works were recorded in cooperation with the Silesian Art Collective Chamber Orchestra at Alvernia Stiudios – one of the most modern studios in the world.

In the autumn of 2014, the artist embarked on her anniversary tour titled. “The Magic Continues…”. The event, which promoted the 20th anniversary of Justyna’s artistic work, was highly appreciated by the audience. They could not only recall Justyna Steczkowska’s greatest hits and best-known songs, but also embark on a journey with the Artist into completely new areas….

August 23, 2014.

On the stage of the Forest Opera in Sopot, as part of the 2014 Polsat Sopot Festival, Justyna’s unique recital was held to celebrate 20 years of artistic work.

April 27, 2014.

Justyna made a guest appearance at the Placido Domingo concert in Poznan. The concert was organized on the occasion of the canonization of Pope John Paul II. The artist, together with Domingo, performed the song “Abba Padre,” the words to which were written by Father Jan Góra.

April 2014.

Two years after the release of her anniversary album ‘XV’, Justyna Steczkowska returned with a new song entitled ‘Terra’. In April 2014, fans had the opportunity to enjoy the unique music video, which at the same time became a preview of the new release, which is being prepared for the following year.

January 2014.

At the beginning of 2014, Justyna Steczkowska once again sat in the seat of the juror and coach of the program “The Voice of Poland”. It was the fourth edition of the program. That same year, in the fall, the Artist returned to the project – also in the role of juror and coach, this time for the 5th edition of “The Voice”.

YEAR 2013

December 2013.

Great action of Justyna, APART and GALA. The “Gala” magazine, the APART brand
and Justyna Steczkowska supported a home for sick and abandoned children – the “Ufność” Center in Częstochowa.

November 2013.

The autumn-winter closing period of 2013. Justyna Steczkowska spent primarily on the stage of the “Syrena Theater” in Warsaw, playing in the play “Śpiewnik Pana W.”. The musical-theater show was so popular with audiences for many seasons that it did not come off the poster for another 3 years.

October 2013.

In October 2013. Justyna Steczkowska was honored with the Amber Rose statuette, which is awarded to those actively involved in charitable activities.

May 20, 2013.

In May 2013, the release of the album “Down Lullabies 2” took place. This is the second edition, containing songs written with the youngest (but not only!) in mind. Justyna Steczkowska made sure that the release was filled with soothing sounds from the first to the last track. A huge surprise also turned out to be the fairy tale about Rudolph – the one and only! – read by the Artist herself.

March 2013.

Justyna Steczkowska began March with preparations for the premiere of the show “Śpiewnik Pana W.”. This unique musical show, hosted on the stage of the Syrena Theater in Warsaw, invited viewers to a journey into the world of songs of the Cabaret of the Older Gentlemen.

February 2013.

During an official press conference, Justyna’s participation (in the role of coach and juror) in the second edition of “The Voice of Poland” program was confirmed! To the delight of many fans, the artist was soon to sit in the famous revolving chair alongside Marek Piekarczyk, Patrycja Markowska and Tomson and Baron from the band Afromental.

January 2013.

Justyna began January by once again joining the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, Jurek Owsiak’s annual initiative.

15TH ANNIVERSARY OF ARTISTIC WORK

YEAR 2012

November 2012.

In the fall of 2012, Justyna Steczkowska’s anniversary album, “XV,” achieved the status of “Album of the Year,” thus winning the “Roses of Gala.”

August 2, 2012.

Justyna performed as a special guest with the Polish Chamber Philharmonic Sopot during the Sopot Classic International Music Festival, commemorating the compositions of Wojciech Kilar in 2012. An extremely pleasant consequence of that evening was the artist’s subsequent invitation to participate in an orchestral concert featuring the music of the outstanding Polish composer, which took place in Toronto.

May 4, 2012.

“XV” received fantastic reviews from critics and fans. The promotion of the album began in a unique way. The first live performance took place in…. Riga! Latvians, who filled the local National Opera House to the brim, had the opportunity to see Justyna in three scenes during one concert. Subsequent concerts took place all over Poland, starting with Warsaw.

April 2, 2012.

The premiere of the anniversary album “XV“. The two-disc release, nothing like the classic “best of”, has hit store shelves. In addition to brand new musical renditions of well-known songs, Justyna has also prepared several new compositions for fans.

February 2012

Justyna has become an ambassador of the Podkarpackie Hospice for Children – the only such stationary center in Poland. It cares not only for sick children, but also their families, providing them with psychological
and material support.

YEAR OF MISALLIANCE

YEAR 2011

June 15, 2011.

The project, initiated by Agnieszka Szczepaniak, which at the beginning of its existence was carried out mainly in the form of concerts, has lived to see its official release. The album “Ale Szopka!” includes compositions enriched by Justyna Steczkowska with her voice.

February 21, 2011.

The album “Mezalianse”, which is a kind of tribute to the works of Kabaret Starszych Panów, had its premiere in February 2011. Justyna prepared this release together with Maciej Malenczuk, who can also be heard on the album.

WOODSTOCK, EGYPT, BUT A CRIB!

YEAR 2010

After a short trip to Egypt, where some of the images for the videos of “XV” were created, Justyna was invited to participate in two musical projects: “ALE SZOPKA” by Agnieszka Szczepaniak
and “MEZALIANSE” by QM Music. In the recording of the second one she was accompanied by Maciej Malenchuk.

July 31, 2010.

Almost straight from the Woodstock stage, Justyna stepped onto the Toronto stage and performed alongside world-renowned tenor Jose Carreras.

July 30, 2010.

Justyna was once again invited to the Woodstock Festival, and once again the Woodstock stage proved to be kind to Justyna. The successful performance resulted in many favorable reviews. Among them was the most exceptional one, coming from the mouth of the Papa Roach band leader himself. The artist praised Justyna for her unique stage creation. Nigel Kennedy, in turn, stated that the Artist’s concert was… simply “awesome”! 🙂

June 24, 2010.

A unique event took place on the stage located on the market square in Rzeszow – a concert by Justyna and the Mimophones
on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of their artistic work. It was at the premiere concert that the “15” project could be heard and the show prepared for the 2010 Woodstock Festival!

May 2010.

Created by Maciej Michalski, the music video for the song “Who am I here” brought a lot, perhaps even more than anyone expected at the time… Submitted a few months after its release to the OGAE Video Contest (“music video Eurovision”), it easily won, leaving
behind David Guetta, among others.

IT'S MY TIME!

YEAR 2009

December 2009.

Justyna has always supported various charity events with great commitment. One of them was Olivier Janiak’s project “Music from the Heart”. For this project Justyna performed a duet with Pawel Malaszynski on the song “Hungry Love”.

August 2009.

In the same year the honorable Diamond Microphone – an award of the Polish Radio Board of Directors given to outstanding radio artists – went to Justyna’s hands.

June 2009.

Justyna became the first artist in the history of the Polish stage, whose concert promoting her new album was broadcast live over the Internet. The show took place in Toruń.

March 20, 2009.

The top ten in Justyna’s discography is closed by the album “THIS IS MY TIME.”

Viktor Rakonczai, a Hungarian composer and producer, winner of many prestigious awards, including: European Golden Artist Award, Artisjus Composer Of The Year or VIVA Comet.

DOWN LULLABIES

YEAR 2008

May 31, 2008.

Justyna was once again honored with the Wiktor award. It is awarded by the Polish Television Academy to outstanding personalities of the small screen, people who have been loved not only by journalists but also by viewers for their skills, talent and professionalism.

May 16, 2008.

The artist’s ninth album entitled “down lullabies” has been released on the market. “DOWN LULLABIES“.

The down content was ten, composed by Justyna, lullabies for children. The album quickly achieved gold status, and part of the proceeds from the sale of this album was donated to the TVN Foundation “you are not alone.”

GIVE ME A MOMENT

YEAR 2007

June 1, 2007.

Exactly on Children’s Day, June 1, the album “Give Me a Moment” saw the light of day. The release was so warmly received by fans, audiences and critics that shortly after its release it also received a Special Edition, enriched with a DVD of additional material.

WOODSTOCK

YEAR 2006

July 29, 2006.

The artist presented herself at the twelfth WOODSTOCK SHOW.

Her performance was shrouded in secrecy until the end, and her personal details were hidden under the familiar-sounding pseudonym “Gravitations.” The show elicited a tremendous amount of enthusiastic comments
and made waves in the music industry.

FEMME FATALE

YEAR 2004

November 27, 2004.

The Kielce Cultural Center hosted a theatrical and musical show, recorded by TVP2, during which Justyna presented songs from her album titled “Femme Fatale.” The show was among the top ten best TV shows in Europe and was awarded the Montreux Rose (Golden Rose Festival – Rose d’Or).

December 4, 2004.

An album entitled. “FEMME FATALE“. The album is a kind of tribute to the Artist, which she pays to the great divas of the 20th century, such as: Anna German, Ewa Demarczyk, Edith Piaf or Milva. The album “Femme Fatale” includes their songs (“Dancing Eurydice,” “Carousel with the Madonnas,” “The Crowd,” “La Cumparsita“), which Justyna decided to sing anew.

ALKIMJA

YEAR 2002

October 19, 2002.

The premiere of the “ALKIMJA” album.

For this album Justyna received (another in her career) a Fryderyk in the “Album of the Year – Ethno/Folk” category.

TALK TO ME SOME MORE...

YEAR 2001

November 10, 2001.

The premiere of the album titled. “MÓW DO MNIE JESZCZE“, which Justyna recorded in duet with Paweł Deląg.

It features poems by exceptional poets, including: Cyprian Kamil Norwid, William Shakespeare and Kazimierz Przerwy-Tetmajer.

October 27, 2001.

Justyna played the main role in the trans-opera titled. “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” The performance, based on Shakespeare’s work, took place on the stage of the Musical Theater in Gdynia. The entire event was accompanied by music by Leszek Możdżer.

DAY AND NIGHT

YEAR 2000

February 19, 2000.

The premiere of the album “DAY AND NIGHT.” The release achieved platinum status.

CHANCE AFTER CHANCE

YEAR 90.

November 1999.

“Farewell to Autumn” – a concert tour with Tomasz Stanko.

August 7, 1999.

The official soundtrack of the film “At World’s End” has premiered and appeared on store shelves. The music was composed by Justyna Steczkowska and Antoni Łazarkiewicz. The album also included a track promoting the cinema picture, with the same title – “At the End of the World.”
An interesting fact for fans may be that the single promoting the release (also available in physical form), included three, unreleased compositions on the soundtrack.

July 1998.

Justyna played the leading female role alongside Alexander Domagarov in Magdalena Lazarkiewicz’s film “The End of the World. “To the End of the World.”

1997 r.

She won the international competition Le Prix Découvertes RFI Est 1997 organized by Radio France International (RFI), in which 142 artists from 15 countries participated. Justyna won the prize in the “Discovery of the East” category.

October 27, 1997.

The premiere of the second album, entitled “NAGA,” has taken place. Its producer, like the first, was Grzegorz Ciechowski. The album reached platinum status.

April 1997.

The entire year of 1996 belonged to Justyna – this was confirmed by the Fryderyk Awards Gala held in early 1997.

At that time – winning as many as five Fryderyk’96 statuettes – the Artist set an absolute record. At the Gala she was awarded in the following categories: Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Phonographic Debut of the Year and Music Video of the Year (“Eye for an Eye”).

The beginning of 1997 also brought the Wiktor’96 Award, with Justyna winning it in the “Best singer and stage artist” category.

March 18, 1996.

The debut album titled “SZAMAN’S GIRL” has been released. The album gained platinum status.

1995 r.

Justyna’s performance at the Baltic Countries Song Festival in Karlshamm, Sweden, with the song “My Intimacy” ended with her winning the Grand Prix. In the same year she also performed at the Sopot Festival (XXXIV International Song Festival Sopot 1995). At that time she performed two new songs – “Shaman’s Girl” and “Wrogu mój”. Her performance was honored with a journalists’ award.

In 1995 Justyna began working with Grzegorz Ciechowski, under whose guidance she began working on her debut album.

April 1995.

Both of these successes – winning both the “Chance for Success” and the Opole Grand Prix – contributed to Justyna Steczkowska’s selection to represent Poland at the 40th Eurovision Song Contest, held
in Dublin in 1995. At that time she performed a song entitled. “Sama.”

July 1994.

Her reward for winning the “Chance for Success” was participation in the Debut Concert in Opole. She performed the song “My intimacy”, which brought her victory – the Opole Grand Prix – the Anna Jantar Award. At the time, Irena Santor uttered memorable words about Justyna. Her plea at the time – “Let’s not lose this pearl” – sounds extremely eloquent today.

June 1994.

A turning point in her career was participation in the first edition of the program “Chance for Success”, in the finale of which she bravely performed the song of the band Maanam entitled “Boskie Buenos”.

CHILDHOOD

YEAR 1972

August 2, 1972.

Justyna Steczkowska was born in Rzeszow – as the fourth
of nine children of Danuta and Stanislaw Steczkowski.

She graduated from high school with honors in 1990 and played
with the Symphony Orchestra of the Rzeszow Philharmonic “String Concerto No. 2 in D minor, op. 22” by Henryk Wieniawski.
